Hi I'm Xavier. I live in Queens. I like my friends a lot. I play video games, go to the gym, and I like trying new things. If you follow me, I'll follow you right back :D

ANNOUNCING THE MEGA MAN GENDERSWAP COLLAB!!!
Let’s be creative and turn the heavily male dominated Mega Man series into a female dominated series! Read the Guidelines and apply!
https://t.co/YAIjiMQ8Ua

And this will accomplish…what?

Absolutely nothing! But allow me to explain.
The one and only thing about the vast majority of these robots (with the exception of Roll and Splash Woman) that defines their gender is their name. There is nothing else. They all lack any stereotypically “gendered” traits.
For example, look at Mega Man. Ignore. the name. If you did not know that this character was called “Mega Man”, what would you say his gender is? He has absolutely no discernible features that would make him either male or female.
Here’s some more:
Elec Man (Mega Man)
Bubble Man (Mega Man 2)
Gemini Man (Mega Man 3)
Ring Man (Mega Man 4)
Stone Man (Mega Man 5)
Plant Man (Mega Man 6)
Cloud Man (Mega Man 7)
Tengu Man (Mega Man 8, Mega Man & Bass)
Dynamo Man (Mega Man & Bass)
Plug Man (Mega Man 9)
Solar Man (Mega Man 10)
And some other various characters from other games in the classic series:
Buster Rod G (Wily Wars)
Enker (Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man 10)
Pluto (Mega Man V)
Bass (Mega Man 7, Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man 10)
Various robots from different games created between 1987 and 2010. All have vastly different appearances - the only thing in common is that they all look fairly androgynous.
So how do you genderswap an androgynous looking robot? You change their name. That’s it. There’s nothing about them to fundamentally alter; all OP did for Mega Woman was choose a hodgepodge of stereotypically female traits to tack on and then call it a day. So progressive.
Oh well. It was an interesting idea and at least it has potential for there to be some interesting artwork.
